Witnesses of medical malpractice cannot seek damages for emotional distress, the Wisconsin Supreme Court has ruled. The decision stemmed from $200,000 in damages awarded to a father whose son died during birth while being attended by an unlicensed, first-year medical resident. The family had initially been awarded $990,000 for wrongful death and medical negligence.

Ok. I’ll admit it. I did it. Everyone does it.
Last week I Googled myself. The interesting part was what I found. Two court documents were readily available and each plainly stated I was a credible witness. Wonder if I could use these words of Judge Douthit the next time I am up against a tough opponent? Hmmm. Maybe I’ll try that on Friday when I am deposed by one of these same attorneys!
