I was recently approached about a case involving a fall in an assisted living facility.  Someone suggested that these facilities are not regulated.  This is false.  An information sheet provided by the US Department of Health and Human Services can be found here.  You will see that these facilities are indeed regulated.

Assisted living facilities are less costly than nursing homes, but are still quite expensive.  The national average is $1,800 per month.  When considering this housing option for you or your loved one, be sure to inquire about what is and is not included in the monthly fee.
