Limbs of Love

Limbs of Love was founded by Joe Sansone, CEO of the Amputee and Prosthetic Center of Houston, Texas. They are a charitable organization whose mission is to provide prosthetic limbs to amputees that have lost a limb but do not have the resources to pay for a prosthetic device.
The thing that brought me to learn of Limbs of Love was their 2nd annual sky-diving event. I previously had the privilege of jumping out of a perfectly good plane in a sky dive of my own over Pumpkin Patch with SkyDive Arkansas and loved every minute of it. I ran across this article that told about the Limbs of Love sky diving event. Over 50 amputees participated in the event entitled Airborne Amputee Skydive. Between 10 and 20 of these sky-divers were Wounded Warriors that lost their limbs while serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. The jump was to urge Congress to pass the Prosthetic Parity Act of 2008. The amputees ranged in age from 18 to 90!
