Life Care Planning in a Down Economy

4 October 2009 32 views No Comment

“Among small businesses, 70 to 80 percent of the problems are all the same: a lack of sales, marketing, financial and strategic planning”, according to Blair Koch, a consultant to small business and president of The Alternative Board. As life care planners, we are in an excellent position to stay afloat in a poor economy. Our business is based on knowledge, we don’t need to keep an inventory of products or purchase and maintain complicated equipment and machinery. We require very little overhead to do our work. With our brains, space to work, a computer and printer, we can develop Life Care Plans and other nurse consulting products.

The start up costs for a nurse consulting business such as Nurse Life Care Planning is relatively small.  A space to work, fax, printer, computer, a phone, reliable transportation and some office supplies is the only expenditures required.  The most important part of any nurse consulting business is the know-how.  Well, how do you get that know-how?  Start your business off right by obtaining a mentor, get good information, invest in yourself and bit the bullet and go for it!

This month I am participating in a teleseminar on Jump Starting Your Business.  For more information on this teleseminar, check out Pat Iyer’s website to register for this event or other upcoming sessions that might help your business get started the right way!
