Cost Effective Prosthesis for Landmine Victims

8 April 2009 345 views 2 Comments

Yanko Design featured this temporary prosthetic limb to support humanitarian assistance for those who fall victim to landmines.  The designer is Tillmann Beauscher.  It appears that the prosthesis comes flat which, if true, makes shipping quantities of these more cost effective.  This design has won the 2009 iF Concept Award of which there were 3200 international entries.

I found it quiet interesting to see all of the mockups that were made during the design process.
