Many states receive workers compensation insurance premium discounts when they establish a drug-free workplace program.  Another advantage of having such a program is the presumptive intoxication/denial of workers compensation benefits for those who test positive.

On February 10th I placed an order for Amazon’s Kindle 2 electronic reading device.  I have never owned such a device in the past and had no first hand knowledge of Kindle 1, Sony Reader or any other device.  I am an avid reader and also find that I read online articles very frequently, but I do not like being tethered to my computer.  I thought this might solve some of my issues with both.

Many of my patients wonder what their benefits consist of when filing a workers compensation claim.  While benefits vary from state to state the most important thing to remember is that the injury must occur in the course and scope of employment.  Not all employees are covered by workers compensation insurance, but more are.  A claims adjuster can provide additional information if you are unsure if your employee is covered or not.  The adjuster is also the one who makes the determination if an injury is deemed as having occurred …
