Compartment syndrome is a serious condition involving increased pressures in a muscle compartment which can lead to muscle and nerve damage and circulatory issues. Cost Effective Prosthesis for Landmine Victims

Yanko Design featured this temporary prosthetic limb to support humanitarian assistance for those who fall victim to landmines.  The designer is Tillmann Beauscher.  It appears that the prosthesis comes flat which, if true, makes shipping quantities of these more cost effective.  This design has won the 2009 iF Concept Award of which there were 3200 international entries.
